Sant Valentí a Les Cabanyes

Sant Valentí is a 13th-century church built over the mosaics of a Roman settlement. Nowadays, visitors can admire its medieval paintings and tombs that once belonged to monks of the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem.

The guided tour explores the medieval history of the church and the religious order that built it through an innovative audiovisual experience: a mapping projection that helps reconstruct some of the original paintings of the church.

This temple was one of the first headquarters of this military-religious order in Catalonia, as they came from Jerusalem to begin a reconquest campaign in the Iberian Peninsula against the Saracens. The interior of the church hides fascinating medieval frescoes depicting figures ranging from well-known Christian saints to scenes of purgatory and hell.

Enjoy a morning full of history and architecture in this medieval jewel surrounded by vineyards!
