La Giralda de l’Arboç
The creator of this building was born in L'Arboç, Joan Roquer i Marí. After his honeymoon trip to Andalusia, the wealthy newlyweds returned to Catalonia excited by Arabic architecture. They lived in Barcelona, where they were taking care daily of their family business, but they decided they wanted to build a summer residence. The building would have to mimic the elements of the Arab architecture that most surprised them in their trip to Andalusia.

Funicular de Gelida
The project of the Funicular de Gelida was carried out by the engineer Santiago Rubió i Tudurí, and was opened on November 1, 1924. The funicular was intended to improve the connection of the nucleus with the train station. It was mainly used by workers at the paper mills, train passengers and neighbors in the Sant Salvador neighborhood.
