La Giralda de l’Arboç

The creator of this building was born in L'Arboç, Joan Roquer i Marí. After his honeymoon trip to Andalusia, the wealthy newlyweds returned to Catalonia excited by Arabic architecture. They lived in Barcelona, where they were taking care daily of their family business, but they decided they wanted to build a summer residence. The building would have to mimic the elements of the Arab architecture that most surprised them in their trip to Andalusia.
